Benefits of the Dog Gym
Our dog gym in Norwich is the first of it’s kind and below are some of the reasons we built this dog gym. Not only does it help you create a stronger bond with your companion, it helps with so much more. Just like humans, dogs to need to exercise to keep healthy, physically and mentally.
Perfect for so many reasons
Our slatmill is perfect for every dog but in particular it can help with reactive dogs, hyperactivity at home, bonding with owners, puppy training, unwanted behaviour like chewing, barking, it helps muscles and joints agile and limber, banned breeds like the XL Bully's and social skills.
Treadmill vs Slat mill
The slat mill is height adjustable for dogs, and the dog controls the speed of the slat mill to speed up or even slow down so risk of injury is minimal. A treadmill is more for endurance whereas a slat mill is for building strength and can safely go from stationary to sprinting in a second.
Rain, Snow or Sun!
No matter the weather in Norwich, your dog can get a good walk or run in! If the weather isn't right for your dog, too wet, paths are frozen or too hot for their pads we provide the perfect solution again in our air conditioned space.
Bonding with your dog
If you're unable to walk a dog any longer we are able to help you. There have been too may cases of owners giving their companions up unwillingly due to physical constraints they have and this provides a solution to that. Better yet, you can watch them enjoy themselves and have a bonding session while they exercise.

What our customers say about us
Highly highly recommended very friendly people and great place to take your dog. My bully absolutely loved it if you still have recall issues or have lead restrictions this is perfect for your dog 🤩
Tye Smyth
Absolutely fantastic place with super helpful people! I have two young male Staffies & they both had their first ever go on the treadmill today. My 9 month old – WOW!! Just WOW!! He absolutely FLEW and it was a pleasure to watch him having the time of his life.
Jill & Bean
“Brought my Daschund here and she absolutely loved it. She loves running off the lead and stretching her little legs but her recall is never the best so this was ideal! Will certainly come again.”

Some people just haven't got the time.
The Butchers Dog was setup because firstly, I love dogs, they’re my passion. All 3 of my dogs use the slat mill and it helps them massively. Not only their fitness but bonding time with me, training and any unwanted behaviour like chewing. We’ve helped nervous dogs build confidence again, it’s a safe place for you to bring your dog and get the exercise they need.
